Inviting Action - One Little Word Blog Hop

I'm taking part in Ali Edwards One Little Word class at Big Picture Classes again this year.  I think that the idea of selecting a word for the year is so much a part of my new year tradition now that I'd do it even without the class, but I love the little nudge towards creativity this class provides each year...and the accountability the blog hop provides.

My word for 2013 is action.  I had a lot of fun with the prompt/assignment for this month.  I tried to come up with 12 phrases that used the word action in them that also summarized some big goals I have for this year.  A few are a bit of a stretch, but overall I'm pretty happy with them.  Each card was made with a hand made stamp with the word action on it and then the phrase for that month was stamped in red using a simple set of letter stamps.  I added patterned paper and some little artistic details to the cards.  I may go back in and replace one or two of those with photos, but my printer was acting up so I just went with cards for now.

As I was arting up the pages, butterflies seemed to be grabbing me.  I had no idea how many butterfly stamps, stickers, etc. I had until I started putting this together.  This is one of my favorite details.

I look forward to the adventures with the word action this year - and to seeing what amazing memories I can create.  Please enjoy visiting the rest of the blogs on this month's blog hop.

  6. Love the colours - teal and orange are such vibrant happy colours. Lovely seeing them all together.

Choosing a word with the class is such a supportive thing, it helps keep it forefront for me. Before it was very solitary and therefore easy to forget.

Look forward to seeing where you end up with your Action.

  7. Funny you were drawn to the butterflies. I've always thought of them as art in motion. Have you ever tried photographing them? They're action personified!

    1. Karen, I love trying to catch butterflies in flight with my lens. I don't usually have a lot of luck, but I agree - they are amazing art in motion.
